Salpa Laver 23X has been designed by the shipyard primarily for cruising. This translates into a wide beam to ensure greater stability when sailing and anchoring, and consequently more space inside, with an unprecedented amount of space below deck on a 7.60-metre boat. The construction is impeccable: the resin is vacuum infused, while the finish is cured and the colour patterns are well chosen.
Two clever solutions in the area: the locker for storing the fenders, and the sofa that converts into a sundeck with one easy movement. The dinette consists of a U-shaped settee, while the coffee table can be removed and stowed away. On the port side, a chaise longue hides the kitchenette with sink and hob. To complete the amenities, there is a fridge and freshwater shower.
The companion way door is transparent but opaque, so both sun and privacy play their part. Two steps down lead to four berths: two amidships under the cockpit, with plenty of headroom. The bathroom offers plenty of space and reinforces the feeling of being on a larger boat.
So, despite a hull designed for cruising, the choppy water says the Salpa Laver 23x can perform well in any conditions. The outboard propulsion adds to the agility and the urge to overdo it, but the boat remains honest and safe.
